Garlic, a Natural Way to Prevent and Fight Cancer
There are also many people who have cured their bodies of cancer using these fruits and vegetables instead of using chemotherapy.
Garlic is a vegetable in the allium family and has great anti-cancer properties!
The allium family also contains onions, leeks, chives, and scallions.
An article from Cancer.gov says, “Protective effects from garlic may arise from its antibacterial properties, or from its ability to block the formation of cancer-causing substances, halt the activation of cancer-causing substances, enhance DNA repair, reduce cell proliferation, or induce cell death.”
The studies of garlic and its ability to prevent cancer show the highest consumption also had the greatest decrease in cancer risk.
From the American Institute for Cancer Research, “In animal studies, components in Allium vegetables have slowed the development of cancer in several stages and at various body sites: stomach, breast, esophagus, colon and lung.”
It’s been shown that if you consume raw garlic a couple of times per week, your risk of lung cancer drops by about half. And even if you’re a smoker, your risk still drops by about a third.
Besides preventing cancer, garlic has been shown to kill cancer stem cells and reduce tumor growth.
Garlic contains sulfur compounds that stimulate the immune system and its ability to kill cancer stem cells. It also has the potential to reduce tumor growth!
Also from the American Institute for Cancer Research, “In laboratory studies, components of garlic have shown the ability to slow or stop the growth of tumors in prostate, bladder, colon and stomach tissue. Recently, a compound in garlic [called diallyl disulfide] proved able to kill leukemia cells in the laboratory.”
In 2009, researchers studied the urine samples of people who consumed 3-5 grams of garlic a day. They found that the compounds blocked the creation of carcinogenic agents in the body which is essential for fighting cancer as well as preventing cancer.
Another study was published in 2009 in Food Chemistry. It was titled, “The antiproliferative and antioxidant activities of common vegetables: A comparative study”.
The researchers studied how 34 different vegetable extracts stopped 8 tumor cell lines.
Chris at chrisbeatcancer.com puts it like this, “They basically just ran vegetables through a juicer and then dripped the extracted juice on different cancer cells to see what would happen.”
Garlic completely stopped all cancer growth in 7 of the 8 tumor cell lines: stomach cancer, breast cancer, brain cancer, childhood brain cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and pancreatic cancer.
In fact, the garlic was the #1 anti-cancer vegetable that was tested!
God has provided us with some amazing ways to heal our own bodies, for a book about this, read God’s Way to Ultimate Health: A Common Sense Guide for Eliminating Sickness Through Nutrition.
Garlic has some amazing anti-cancer properties and is an easy way to prevent and fight cancer. Ginger is another food that has been shown to contain powerful anti-cancer properties. You can read about it here.
It also has no serious side effects, unlike chemotherapy. If you’re curious about what chemotherapy actually does to the body, read my posts, How Chemotherapy Damages Your Body: Physical Changes (Part 1) and How Chemotherapy Damages Your Body: Internal Damage (Part 2).
Even though garlic is usually a very safe and healthy option, be sure to check with your nutritionist before adding anything that will be a regular item to your diet (especially if you take blood thinners or are about to have surgery since garlic is a natural blood thinner).
